By bus
Discover the rules in force on ATB Consorzio buses.
1) Travel documents

Passengers travelling by ATB Consorzio buses must have a valid and suitable travel document and keep it for the duration of their journey as far as the final stop.
Tickets can be purchased:
- with Chat&Go by ATB, in other words through the whatsapp channel, activable by scanning the dedicated QRCode present at the stop. Payment is made by credit card and the purchase must be finalised before boarding. The ticket is immediately valid.
- from ATB Mobile app with credit card. The ticket must be validated within the app itself before boarding.
ATTENTION: tickets purchased by Chat&Go by ATB and from ATB Mobile app can only be used with the device used to purchase them, so it is not possible to give them away or send them to others (e.g. by taking a screenshot).
- at Passa e Vai system validators with contactless credit/debit or prepaid card as soon as the passengers get on board. The customer receives a pre-authorisation notification up to €7.00, the correct charge is processed within 24 hours, and, in the event of checks, the passenger must indicate the last 4 digits of the physical card used for payment or the virtual PAN if payment was made via smartphone or smartwatch. Each bank card allows the purchase of a ticket for up to 5 passengers;
- at the authorized points of sale with the payment methods accepted by the single seller and at the automatic vending machine by recharging the electronic ticket. In both cases, tickets must be validated on the green devices on board at the time of boarding.
Passengers whose ticket has expired must purchase and/or validate another in order to finish their journey.
The malfunctioning of any of the sales channels does not entitle to travel without a ticket.
Passes
Season passes always consist of two parts: an identification card and a payment receipt. The payment receipt guarantees interoperability, i.e. the use of the season passes on vehicles owned by ATB Consorzio members.
Travel documents are personal and non-transferable.

2) Fines

Travellers without a travel document, with a non-validated, unsuitable, expired or forged document or in possession of a season pass that is not complete in both parts are liable to pay an administrative fine. Travellers are required to show the travel document to the inspection staff and, in the event of irregularities, must provide a valid identity document for the purposes of filling in the penalty report. The inspection staff, acting as a public official, may also seize irregular or forged travel documents. (art. 46 L.R. 4 aprile 2012, n. 6).
3) Children on board

For each paying adult one child under 4 years of age can travel for free.
Children may be transported in pushchairs or small prams as long as they are placed in the appropriate spaces and the safety devices are activated; the limit for safety reasons is one open pushchair or small pram per bus. The adult is in any case responsible for supervision and compliance with safety conditions throughout the journey.
Pushchairs must be closed in the presence of wheelchair users.
4) Accessibility

Passengers in wheelchairs, even without carer, for safaty reasons may:
- travel on all ATB network, getting on and off the bus only at the accessible stops marked by the symbol both at the stop and on the Google Maps;
- travel even by motorized wheelchairs up to 250 kg (fully loaded).
Bus drivers must activate the ramp allowing the people in wheelchair or using walking aids to board the vehicle. Passengers are responsible for getting the wheelchair on and off the vehicle, taking the right seat and putting in place the lock mechanisms.
Passengers with motor disabilities, even not in wheelchair, may ask to get on the bus from central doors.
5) Travelling with pets

Passengers may travel with:
- all dog sizes only with leash, muzzle and ticket
- other animals if transported in proper boxes or bags not exceeding cm 50x30x30 in size
Passengers with pets must ensure:
- to purchase a travel document for the animal (fares are the same as those of other passengers)
- that pets do not get on seats, dirty or spoil the vehicle or cause damage to other passengers
Guide and rescue dogs are allowed to travel for free without muzzle and oversize.
If the bus is crowded the driver can forbid the boarding to any kind of animal.
6) Carriage of items

Any traveller in possession of an appropriate ticket may carry:
- free of charge, i.e. included in his or her ticket, an object no larger than 20x40x60 cm or a small musical instrument;
- an object measuring between 20x40x60 cm and 40x80x120 cm, including folding bicycles, folding scooters and other electric micro-mobility devices suitably folded to comply with the above dimensions, paying an additional ticket at the same fare as the passenger;
- objects in excess of the first, provided they comply with the above dimensions, by paying an additional ticket at the same fare as the passenger for each.
The traveller must arrange the objects in such a way as to guarantee safety conditions for all passengers, not to constitute an obstacle or danger, even in the event of sudden braking of the vehicle. He is in any case responsible for any damage caused to persons or property resulting from their transport.
On the other hand, it is forbidden to transport:
- objects larger than 40x80x120 cm, including bicycles and scooters that cannot be reduced to the dimensions indicated in the first two points of this article;
- weapons, inflammable, explosive, smelly or otherwise dangerous goods.
7) Conduct on board

Those travelling by ATB Consorzio buses must:
a) board only from the "ENTRANCE" doors, get off only from the "EXIT" doors, except for what agreed for passengers with disabilities;
b) board and alight only while the vehicle is at a stop;
c) always guarantee the driver's visibility at the front door and stop outside the opening and closing radius of the doors;
d) use the appropriate safety supports, even when seated;
e) arrive at the stop on time and book it with a wave of the arm;
f) press the request button to get off in advance;
g) behave respectfully towards other passengers and service personnel;
h) prevent damage to the devices on the vehicles;
i) request information from the driver only when the bus is stationary;
j) give up their seats to disabled and elderly people and pregnant women;
(k) refrain from unnecessarily operating emergency devices;
(l) refrain from consuming food or drink on board;
m) keep the tone of voice and volume of audio devices and mobile phones low.
Failure to comply with these Regulations excludes any liability on the part of ATB Consorzio in the event of passenger injury or damage caused to persons or property during the trip.
8) Smoking ban

Smoking on board, even electronic cigarettes, is forbidden.
9) Photographs and videos

Photographs and videos are allowed only in the course of a purely personal or household activity (art.2 clause c GDPR).
